THE VOICE OF REASON

The voice of reason is reduced to background noise. It got lost in the cacophony of the “absolute truth”. The end really seems to justify the means. Now false prophets proclaim their ominous messages of hate. Divide the world in left and right, where everything is black or white. It’s us or them, it’s never we. A Gutmensch or a fascist pig. Electoral gain seems to be the only goal. They talk in one-liners to star in the evening news. All I hear are empty phrases, empty phrases filled with lies. Empty phrases that rape our common sense and ruin our fragile minds. Divide the world in left and right, where everything is black or white. It’s us or them, it’s never we. A Gutmensch or a fascist pig. They try to fix what isn’t broken. They are appointing problems without offering a solution. They divide the world in two completely different camps. Pick a side, ‘cause if you aren’t with us you’re against us. We’re angry and upset that they fooled us again, that they didn’t have the answers to our complicated questions. We still need a navigator to guide us through the night, to guide us through the tunnel towards the light. What if they are not the problem? What if we are the real problem? Faith means not wanting to know the truth. We keep making the same mistakes all over again. There is no such thing as free will. We keep marching on ‘til the bitter fucking end.
